Condemning Others – Not Good !

With the passage of time we see finger-pointing and condemning on a rapid rise around the world. It is one thing to judge the words and actions of another.

It is quite another thing entirely to condemn the person-- created in the express image and likeness of God.

What we are doing in effect is cursing that individual. “So you have no reason, whoever you are, for judging: for in judging another you are judging yourself, for you do the same things. And we are conscious that God is a true judge against those who do such things. But you who are judging another for doing what you do yourself, are you hoping that God's decision will not take effect against you? Or is it nothing to you that God had pity on you, waiting and putting up with you for so long, not seeing that in his pity God's desire is to give you a change of heart? But by your hard and unchanged heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of the revelation of God's judging in righteousness;” ~ Romans 2:1-5 BBE

Indeed, far too often when I am on the verge of pointing the accusing finger at another, I find three incriminating fingers pointed right back at me.

The world likes to attack in particular members of the Body of Christ. That is to be expected: they are following the leading of the prince of this world, Satan, Beelzebub, the lord of flies, the devil… their father unless and until they repent and accept Christ as Savior and Lord over their lives.

Much, much worse is for those calling themselves by the Name of Christ-ian to do so, mimicking the sinfulness of the world. “There is only one judge and law-giver, even He who has the power of salvation and of destruction; but who are you to be your neighbor's judge?” ~ James 4:12 BBE

“How is it, that if any one of you has a cause at law against another, he takes it before a Gentile judge and not before the saints? Is it not certain that the saints will be the judges of the world? If then the world will be judged by you, are you unable to give a decision about the smallest things? Is it not certain that we are to be the judges of angels? How much more then of the things of this life? If then there are questions to be judged in connection with the things of this life, why do you put them in the hands of those who have no position in the church? I say this to put you to shame. Is there not among you one wise man who may be able to give a decision between his brothers?” ~ 1 Corinthians 6:1-5 If at all possible, we are to keep things within the Body of Christ rather than airing our dirty laundry in public.

Besides, what if you “render a verdict,” then discover that when all the facts came out you needlessly and wrongfully disgraced a brother? What a foul and demonic action you will have carried out, one that can be apologized for, but never retracted. Once you’ve torn open the pillow and dumped the feathers into the wind, you never will be able to pick them all back up… the damage is done. Selah (pause and consider carefully)
