Learn the Lesson of Frankenstein's Monster!

“Frankenstein” was not primarily a horror story, but rather a morality tale. Young Dr. Victor Frankenstein strove to play God, creating life from death. He failed to realize that only the one true God can ever create anything. Creation involves making something that can be seen from something that cannot be seen. All other beings can merely manipulate what is already in existence. The monster he developed wound up destroying everything the doctor cared about and loved, and finally the doctor himself.

The message is biblical. Whenever man makes the attempt to imitate God or “to become as God,” the result is inevitably destruction and death. We are seeing this today on a global scale-- as man through scientific endeavors tampers with the very fabric of life, or whenever he takes it on himself to change the definitions of right and wrong (good and bad)… or to ignore the ways of God-- man is de facto playing at being god (lower case “g”).

The end of that pursuit will always be destruction and eventually death. In the final analysis there will only be those who play god and those who take the course of wisdom, praising, worshiping and obeying Him.
