You ain't so tough

The devil was walking along a street with his little demons walking behind him, giving out assignments.

"Now you go into this house; you go into this house, you go into this house..."

One spoke up, "but master, you skipped this house. What's up?"

The devil shuddered, "stay away from this house. The woman inside knows her Bible. She knows how to use it and how to use that Name I hate so much. I went in there last week and she whooped the tar out of me!"

Now, a part-time Christian is at a disadvantage against a full-time demon. But the man or woman (or child) who knows well precisely who and what they are in Christ are a force to be reckoned with. They will have on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18*), tested and proven and in order, with their Sword sharpened on both edges.

We are in the throes of a war as old as time itself. The war has been won and the foe defeated. Yet as the army of the occupation we must continue to take back territory and free the captives. It is all-in or all-out. Those who try to "sit it out" become what we refer to as "collateral damage."

* Ephesians 6:10-18 -- Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11, Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13, Why take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14, Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15, And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16, Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17, And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
