There is one-- possibly more than one, web site that seems dedicated to trashing publicly ministers called by Holy Spirit to preach the full gospel of Christ. This in and of itself is far from a Scriptural act. When a friend of mine began parroting the points of this particular site I felt compelled to set the record straight and to counsel my friend in the expected approach of a Christ-follower.
"Blanket condemnation of ministers of the gospel is treading on dangerous ground with the Lord. "Who are you judging another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. But he will stand, for God is able to make him stand." ~ Romans 14:4
"I thought for years as you seem to according to your FB posts."
"Then I wised up and was led by Holy Spirit to act as the Beroeans, whom Paul the apostle praised: "The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so." ~ Acts 17:10-11
"But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law who was respected by all the people (and who taught Paul the apostle), stood up in the Council and ordered the men to be taken outside for a little while. Then he told them, “Fellow Israelis, consider carefully what you propose to do to these men." ... “I’m telling you to keep away from these men for now. Leave them alone, because if this plan or movement is of human origin, it will fail. However, if it is from God, you won’t be able to stop them, and you may even discover that you are fighting against God!” So they were convinced by him. ~ Acts 5:34-35 ~ Acts 5:38-39"
"Having gone heavily into the Scriptures IN CONTEXT-- as do at least most of these preachers, and accepting the preponderance of the Word on a given matter (knowing that none of us has a perfect understanding of the Scriptures), I have concluded:
(1) The majority of those being railed against are men and women dedicated to letting the Truth of God's Word take them where He wills.
(2) They prefer (as they must) to take the Word over the traditions and teachings of men.
(3) They choose to take the plain sense when it makes sense and accept no other sense, knowing that if they do they will wind up with nonsense.
(4) Most of them rely heavily on Scripture to support every argument, as all Christ-followers should.
(5) In all the ministries of which I know, each of them gives more in tithes and offerings percentage-wise from both personal and ministry funds than most of the rest of us. Percentage reflects the condition of the heart, as with the poor widow woman: Mark 12:42 and Luke 21:2.
(6) In practice most of them have shown themselves among the most humble I've known."
"Can they make mistakes? To that question I would answer with another question: are they still wearing the skin suits? When we get saved, it is instant. Our perfection comes once we leave this plain. Yet our minds and bodies tend to take longer. Indeed, when we are baptized far too many seem to hold parts of their lives up out of the water."
"I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme; but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation." Mark 3:28-29 (By attributing what comes from God as being of satan). When it comes to making anything like that sort of mistake, this homey don't play dat."
"I pray that whomever has been spreading such nonsense will go to their knees and bury their faces in carpet, asking the Lord to make clear the truth to their hearts and let His goodness lead them to repentance. If a brother is caught in error, the accepted response is not to trash them publicly; rather to follow the steps given in the epistles only. To do otherwise is to be no better than the lost world. And for goodness' sake, we must never allow others to do our thinking, praying or researching of the Bible for us."
"I pray this helps with your understanding of how we are supposed to approach those anointed by the Lord to do His work. Carol land I are still deep into our triple degree studies on theology and evangelism, it the deeper we go the more exciting it becomes."
"Walk in the faith of the Lord."
