Christians aren't perfect

None of us have as yet "arrived," having perfected the art of being Christ-followers. No, each of us remains a "work in progress," and if we wait until we fully have our act together before carrying out the Great Commission, we never will be of valued service to the Lord.

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. " Mark 16:15-18

Pray continually. I rarely pray longer than a half hour, yet I rarely go a half hour without praying. "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

Read and Study the Word regularly. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." 2 Timothy 2:15-16

Be faithful in Church attendance. If you think you can be as good a Christian without regular gathering with your brothers and sisters in Christ: you can, but you won’t. "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25

Daily ensure you have on the full armor of God, tested and proven for you. "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: and how it ought to be used Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" Ephesians 6:13-18

Then get busy about the Father's business. Christianity is not a spectator sport: each of us is expected to show up for every practice and game in full uniform, ready willing and able to run onto the field as the Coach directs and giving it our all.

God bless you during this year as you walk in the faith of the Lord!
