Biblical symbolism

The Bible is rich in symbolism, although we are to take all of it literally unless the context expressly states otherwise. It is also full of types and shadows that have later antitypes in repetition.

This one I had not considered much until recently. The striking of the blood on the doorposts of the homes of the enslaved Isralites in Egypt on the night of the death of the firstborn was in the form of an upright triangle in blood. Moses called for the sacrifice of lambs to provide the blood.

Later came Jehovah God's answer in the form of Yeshua, the Anointed One from Nezeret and the chosen Lamb paying for the sins of all mankind. The way He was nailed to the tree by His hands and feet formed an inverted triangle in His blood.

Now, when we superimpose the cry of man on Yahweh (Jehovah) God's answer, what do we get?

The Star of David, representing the Davidic line from which Yeshua ha Meshiach (Jesus the Messiah) was prophesied to come. Jesus, whose first coming as the step-son of a Jewish carpenter fulfilled to the letter 108 distinct prophesies, a statistical impossibility. Thanks to Jesus, genuine believing Christians are grafted into the Vine of Israel as branches and subject to all the blessings of Abraham (see Deuteronomy 27).

Thanks be to God the ultimate Giver for providing us the greatest Gift ever given! Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!
