Thoughts on Praise and Worship

1. Do you think praise and worship service is just a means of "warming them up" for the sermon?

2. Do you think it is just to be a "performance" by a group on a stage? Or are you an enthusiastic participant?

3. Are you focused on what you are doing, or are you (a) thinking about the fussing you did on the way to church, (b) planning what to do for lunch after, (c) watching everyone around you, or (d) texting or playing games on your smartphone?

4. Are you really praising and worshiping the King of Kings, or are you "putting in your required time?"

Praise and worship, whether alone or corporate, is your opportunity to give to the Lord-- our Father in heaven about the only gifts He loves and thrives on. It is the appreciation from His children for all that He is, all that He has done. You are about to have a feast on the Word of God!

And as the Lord made clear to our pastor, Keith Moore of Faith Life Church (Branson, MO and Sarasota, FL): "If you're not enjoying it, don't assume I'm getting a lot out of it."
