Parable of the Farmer - Prayer Request

"The farmer plants the Word.

Farmers Planting Seeds

Some people are like the seed that falls on the hardened soil of the road. No sooner do they hear the Word than Satan snatches away what has been planted in them.

And some are like the seed that lands in the gravel. When they first hear the Word, they respond with great enthusiasm. But there is such shallow soil of character that when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives, there is nothing to show for it.

The seed cast in the weeds represents the ones who hear the kingdom news but are overwhelmed with worries about all the things they have to do and all the things they want to get. The stress strangles what they heard, and nothing comes of it.

But the seed planted in the good earth represents those who hear the Word, embrace it, and produce a harvest beyond their wildest dreams." ~~ Mark 4:14-20 (The Message)

Prayer: Lord, help us not to offend anyone UNNECESSARILY. Yet, if we speak Your Truth boldly in love and someone is offended, make us to realize that You are shining the Light on something that is wrong in their heart and life and that needs to be addressed in short order. We have done what is expected of us.

They either will humble themselves and submit to You or they will harden their hearts and reject You. The choice is theirs, as are the inevitable consequences. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Personal: I covet your prayers in faith for completion of the healing process in my body. This past couple of weeks I came under pain attack in my ankles, knees, hips, sciatic, lower back and shoulders (At some point in the past I managed to injure each. The stories might be funny reading one day.).

I've only been wearing Ace braces, a Mueller knee brace, using a cane and taking Aleve when absolutely necessary. However, Carol and I have been devouring the book and Keith Moore's DvD series "God's Will to Heal" along with Charles Capps' "God's Creative Power for Healing" on a daily basis. The Word works if we work the Word. We never miss a service at Faith Life Church-- gotta keep eating at God's table.

Our bodies are NOT going to tell us what they will or will not do. At 67 and 74 we are still puppies. Rather, we stand solidly and with determination on His promises. Through the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ we have been redeemed from every curse of the law (see Deuteronomy 28).
