"You Have Porpoise!"

On a hot day in the Southwest, the driver's eye was caught by a woman standing by a stoplight. She was holding a hand-made yet well designed sign and sported a warm, open smile.
As the driver approached the intersection he strained to read the sign, believing it would be a request for food or money as he had seen increasingly in recent years. To his surprise it displayed only three words:
"You Have Porpoise!"
Now, there's a message you don't see every day. Could she be one of those wild-eyed animal rights activists? Perhaps a recent graduate of one of our public institutions of higher socialization and political correctness?
No, the twinkle in her eye showed him it was a deliberate play on words. "You Have Purpose."
Each of us was created by the one true God for a specific purpose. Primarily that purpose is to bring honor and glory to Him through our lives. We can meet this goal by living our lives every day in genuine love for all men, going about doing good and caring more for their eternal souls and needs than we do for their acceptance [1 Peter 4:10-11].
A mother with young children may find purpose in wiping runny noses and telling her kids about Jesus. A father may find purpose in spending time with his kids as his only focus, playing with them and teaching them how to live as worthwhile members of society.
An employee at a job she does not particularly like may find her purpose doing all of her work conscientiously to the very best of her ability, remembering it is the Lord she really is serving [Colossians 3:23-24].
An elderly man who has lost his mobility and most of his sight still finds purpose in praying for his children and grand-children and for the persecuted Church world-wide, influencing any who come into contact to trust in and follow the Lord, Jesus.
In Psalm 139, verse 16 it is written: before we were born "all the days ordained for [us] were written in [His] book." We are "fearfully and wonderfully made" to bring glory to our Creator [verse 14].
Our lives tend to swing from days that drag by to challenges we would rather not confront. We should pray that we will see the Lord in the middle of everything we face. We need to ask Him to show us a glimpse at the purpose and meaning He brings to all in life that is good.
Never forget: "You Have Porpoise!"
